"Division I collegiate baseball has several points of emphasis that no other sport (men or women) has to deal with within the NCAA structure and organization. Very soon, 'love of the game' is going to be taken away from many baseball student-athletes and their coaches. More than likely, if all these rules for baseball remain, in a very short period of time, they will be changed because there will be an inundation of kids, their parents, and yes, us coaches yelling, 'Foul!'"

"Division I collegiate baseball is suffering under seven NCAA sponsored regulations that no other sport (men or women) has to deal with. Very soon, this 'love of the game' is going to be taken away from many baseball student-athletes and their coaches. Student-athlete welfare is going to be degraded, and coach welfare is really going to be compromised. Why has baseball been treated so unfairly by the NCAA? More than likely, if all these rules for baseball remain, in a very short period of time, they will be changed because there will be an inundation of kids, their parents, and yes, us coaches yelling, 'Foul!'"

SAVE COLLEGE BASEBALL.com

Greetings,
Welcome to SaveCollegeBaseball.com, a Website run by student-athletes, for student-athletes. Our team is committed to providing an innovative outlet for the national baseball community to unite in order to bring about legislative change beneficial to college baseball programs, coaches, parents, and, most importantly, student-athletes. Our success will be sustained through the efforts of a national movement by passionate volunteers concerned for the future of our national pastime.
The foundation of our efforts to stimulate equality in college baseball relative to NCAA policy is structured in our "THREE STRIKE PLAN:"
First, we must EDUCATE the national baseball community (students, athletes, coaches, parents, college presidents, NCAA committee members, etc.) on the new NCAA Division I baseball regulations set to begin entering the '08-'09 academic year, as well as other relevant policies that are unjust and have specifically targeted the sport unfairly. The outcome of which has been the national loss of athletic scholarships, playing opportunities, and overall athlete's rights. (See "The Issues")
Second, we must ACTIVATE the national baseball community by encouraging them to "get in the game." This means getting your voice heard by writting letters or e-mails, phone calls, or any other form of communication to those with influence over these matters. Such people include coaches, NCAA committee members, collegiate presidents, athletic Directors, media outlets, etc. A pre-written e-mail along with a spreadsheet of contact information for these people can be found in the (See "Get Involved") tab above.
Third, it will be our goal to have the NCAA REGULATE their new baseball specific policies, as well as other unjust regulations so that new legislation is created to restore athlete's rights and other qualities vital to the student-athlete community that the NCAA claims to instill. This can be done only through a united national effort. (See "Talk About It - Forum)
The NCAA is like any other institution and will respond to public interest. It will be our duty to make clear what our interests are to them!
